Today, I am excited to inform you that ShoreTel has taken a bold move forward in redefining mobility with the acquisition of Agito Networks. By acquiring Agito, a well-respected leader in platform-agnostic enterprise mobility technology, ShoreTel is creating a new chapter and changing the rules of the industry by enabling mobile users to communicate anywhere using any network—cellular or Wi-Fi. We are calling this capability the ShoreTel Mobility.
As the adoption of smartphones continues to grow at a rapid pace, this acquisition represents a key strategic investment for ShoreTel and its resellers by creating an important differentiator in the mobility space. The ShoreTel Mobility solution puts the full power of the desk phone in the user’s pocket, and Agito’s heterogeneous PBX and UC support for other vendors, including Cisco, Avaya and Microsoft, lets you address a wider range of market segments than ever before.
Furthermore, the acquisition reduces our time to market for innovative mobile solutions, especially since Agito’s value proposition is consistent with ours—strong return on investment for the customer, and easy to use. The Agito Networks product portfolio complements and extends ShoreTel Communicator for Mobile capabilities, and as we work on developing a comprehensive integration schedule, I’m pleased to let you know that the two clients work well together today and form the basis of ShoreTel Mobility.
